Volume 5 – Horizontal (CET Signaling Manual)

Description: Horizontal signage has the function of organizing the flow of vehicles and pedestrians; controlling and guiding movements in situations with problems of geometry, topography or in front of obstacles; complementing the vertical signs of regulation, warning or indication. This Manual complies with CONTRAN Resolution No. 160/04, which approves Annex II of the Brazilian Traffic Code – CTB and CONTRAN Resolution No. 236/2007 which approves Volume IV – Horizontal Signage, of the Brazilian Traffic Signage Manual and contains the criteria for the development of horizontal signage projects for the city of
São Paulo.

Description: This standard contains the design criteria for signaling lanes/tracks and roads for exclusive or preferential use by buses, through signage and complies with the legal provisions contained in the Brazilian Traffic Code, CTB.
